Ysabel Archer was on one of her usual tirades. She saw a plant, and by golly she had to identify it. The thing was, this plant was a lilypad, with a marvelous creamy yellow flower, and she had never seen one like it before. She couldn't swim that well, so she didn't want to swim out to get it. She knew there was a cord that tethered it down, as Lake Hylia's beautiful clear water allowed her to see. She hadn't saw any Zoras or any other signs of mammalian life, so she didn't have anyone to ask for help. Without a second thought, she began hunting for a stick that she could use to pull the lilypad in closer so she would be able to wade out and get it, assuming it was in the right spot to do so. If someone came along, she could beg of them a favor, and hopefully they would comply. If not, it was their loss, and she would do it on her own.

Isabel slowly walked by and stared at the unusual woman "C-can I help you?" she asked quietly. She wanted to help the woman but was afraid to be snapped at by the stranger. "Are you trying to get that flower?" She asked silently walking over to the woman but stopped where the land met the water. "I can help you if you want me to." She offered sliding off her shoes. She was an excellent swimmer and wouldn't mind bracing the cold water to help the woman.

Ysabel turned around and assessed the woman quietly. She was a little smaller than her, but seemed to be a reasonable person. She even offered to help. Yes, this would definitely do well for her. Offering up a delicately pleasant smile, Ysabel nodded. "Yes, I am trying to bring it in. Sadly, I'm not a proficient swimmer and I've never seen such a magnificent specimen before." Okay, Izzy, stop sounding like such a nerd, she thought to herself, maintaing her pleasant demeanor. As the woman had already taken off her shoes, she assumed this was going to work out fairly well in her favor.
"I'm Ysabel, by the way. I really appreciate the help." It was time to be humble, and to appreciate what she was given.

"Ysabel?" Isabel said with a smile as she slipped her over coat off. She could dry the rest of her clothes with magic but didn't want to risk it with the brand new jacket. "That's funny my name is Isabel but my friends and children call me Izzy." She said wading in the water. Once she had gotten deep enough she dived head first and gracefully swam over to the plant under the water. She come up for air next to the plant and gently waved her feet back and forth to keep afloat "Do you want me to pluck it?" She asked politely.

Isabel? Whoa. No way. For some reason, the name and nickname forced a true smile onto Izzy's pale features. This just got more and more interesting with every second that passed. Ysabel didn't know what part of the woman's words she would like to comment on first. The fact Isabel had children, the fact that she shared the same nickname, or the fact that she was as graceful as a zora in the water. Emotions as befuddled as they were, she couldn't force a single word to escape.
"Yes, please. If possible, I would like a section of the root to be in tact, say a few inches long? It would be beneficial to understanding this species." Small talk could come afterward; having a conversation in the water didn't seem plausible. Once she got her plant, she would inquire about these children and everything else.

Isabel smiled and dove under the water to better handle the plant. She pulled out the plant and several inches of the roots and gently swam it over to the edge of the water with a back stroke. "Here you are. " Isabel said in a quiet voice as she handed the plant over as gently as she could. She thought briefly of her days back in the Kokiri village but the thought passed as quickly as it came. "Glad I could assist you." Isabel said curtsying.

The graciousness of this woman was astounding. Frankly, Ysabel found herself in admiration of this woman, and they had just met. "Thank you so much." Ysabel took a moment to admire the flower and the leaves themselves before gently tucking the plant away in her travel pouch. "So, you said your name is Isabel? My nickname is also Izzy, but few people actually address me by that name." Smiling, Ysabel continued. "If you don't mind my asking, how many children do you have? I hope to some day be a mother, if I can find a man who suits my fancy."
Speaking of fancies, Ysabel thought it would be nice of her to offer some of her tea to Isabel as a token of her gratitude. She had children, and it was great for colds and various other ailments any living creature might have.

Isabel sighed and smiled as she thought of her loving kids and husband "Well my first born are twins John and Rosa. They're both adults now but they're still single and John is a part of that assassins group." She paused and clasped her hands in front of her waist. "then is my daughter Zelda." she paused to see if the woman had any reaction to that. "The princess herself. She's two years younger than them and is brilliant. Then is my adopted daughter Elizabeth. Shes nine now but she's very cute and innocent. Finally are the newest additions Eleanor and Booker. They're twins and are both two years old. I love all my children dearly and i would recommend having one if you can find a man who suits your fancy."

A single son? Hmm. She would have to inquire more about him later. Devious as always, Ysabel listened intently to the woman speak, until she heard that she was Princess Zelda's mother. This was definitely one interesting person that had stumbled across her. "That's incredible," she said, acknowledging the honor it must be to be the mother of the princess. Dreaming, Izzy could only wish she would one day become a princess. Being treated like one would be enough, though.
"It sounds like you have quite the family! Two sets of twins is incredible, and on top of that being the mother of the princess!" It was clear Ysabel was sold, but she wasn't quite too intense to be seen as creepy. "Say, do you have any need for some tea? I craft it myself. It would be free of charge, seeing as you retrieved the lilypad for me."

Isabel nodded and clasped her hands together "I am incredibly proud of my daughter. I never thought I would be mother of the princess. I mean me! A lowly Kokiri woman!" she said not sure that her new friend would get the reference she was making. "I would fancy some tea. Please relax while I tell you my story." She said with a small smile that disappeared as quickly as it had come. "Before I tell you I must ask, how much do you know about the treatment of the Kokiri women and half breeds in their native lands?"

Ysabel felt like she was with her own mother, getting told stories and whatnot. She would never have used the term 'lowly' to describe this woman, as she was remarkable, and mother to the princess, but after she mentioned the word 'kokiri' she understood what she was implying. Kokiri people were simply not that large, meaning a cross breeding. From what she was told, that was definitely frowned upon, but Ysabel was not one to judge. Izzy decided to hold on to her tea until the story was told, as she didn't plan on leaving this spot until she had heard everything.
"The only thing I know is that many people don't like it." She wasn't going to feign intelligence on the subject. Not when she wanted to get a full understanding of everything.

Isabel sighed "That's an understatement dear." Isabel said sliding her sleeve up to reveal an ugly HB scarred on her back "They did this to me. I was always an outcast. I was the bastard child of a Hylian woman and a Kokiri father." she sighed and rolled the wet sleeve down. "I was segregated from day one and after my mother left. Well..." She paused and shook her head "I'd rather not say. I was about to give up all hope from all the beating and humiliation I received. My kind feared me. I was the only white mage they had ever seen and I was more powerful than they feared." She crossed her arms and wiped tears out of her eyes "S-sorry for tearing up. I always do." she paused and waited for her friends response "Do you want me to keep telling the story?"

Mutilation of the flesh? Beatings? Bastard children? Wow, Ysabel was just not realizing how sheltered she had been. The worst thing she had ever encountered was the occasional octorok, she had never actually been subject to physical violence from other humanoids. Something inside her stirred. She was disgusted, and truly wished she could comfort Isabel. She wasn't a huggy person, so that notion was instantaneously moved aside.
"There is no need to apologize for tearing up. It pains me that people are capable of being so cruel, just because of something such as mixed breeding. I mean, you should be able to have children with someone you love, regardless of who or what they are." The world was a silly place, to say the least. "If you would like to continue telling the story, feel free. I wouldn't blame you if you didn't want to share, it sounds like something that hurts to relive. But, if you would like to, I would gladly listen." The urge to help heal this emotional hurt appeared, but Ysabel doubted there was much that could be done to heal such scars.

Isabel hugged Ysabel loosely in case she wanted to pry herself free. "Don't worry this story gets better." she said smiling slightly "Then one day came a man. He was a Hylean and by gods was he beautiful. I fell in love immediately." She continued to hug the woman and slowly moved her hand up and down Ysabel's back to comfort herself. "He came from no where and freed me from that damned place in one of the most selfless act of courage I've ever seen. That man's name is Krieger. The man i love with all my heart. We've been married for over twenty years now and he's fathered all of my children." she let go of Izzy and smiled "Well enough about me. Tell me about yourself."

The hug was odd, but for some reason Ysabel was okay with it. She didn't figure she was going to get a knife plunged into her back, so if the situation was free of danger she figured it would be alright. The pleasant turn was much needed, and the romance part definitely peaked Ysabel's interest in the situation. "That's such a nice ending. It's so inspiring that Krieger found you, that you were freed, and now you have what I assume to be a lovely family." Twenty years seemed to be a long time, but when married it couldn't be that long.
"Well, I've lived a relatively unexciting life. I was born and raised in the swamp a little ways from Termina field. Before long, my family moved to Hyrule and settled near the river back in the woods a bit. From there, I was taught to wield a sword and I discovered a love of plants. I expanded that horizon, starting my own documentation of the various plants I've found. Now I'm attending school in Hyrule, trying to broaden my horizons a bit. I, too, have the ability to use white magic, it's just that I'm not very good at it and, well, I'm kind of afraid to use it." Ysabel didn't have that exciting of a life so far, but it was nothing she could complain about. It was bound to get more interesting as the days passed.
