Personality: Link is courageous, brave, handsome, adventurous, and gregarious. He is beyond extremely helpful, trying to do his best to help anyone and everyone who may be in need of anything. The man tends to be reserved, but he definitely speaks his mind if need be. Heroic as always, he tries to do what is right at all costs, even if he could die in the process. He puts others above himself the majority of the time. All in all, Link seems like a great guy! He's strong, handy, intelligent, and just awesome… but he does have a darker side.
Link is greedy. If he sees a rupee, he wants it. Don't get in his way. He knows people hide rupees in pots, so he tends to smash ALL the pots he finds to see if he can strike it rich. This is a huge downfall for him, and if he isn't breaking pots, he is renting himself out for more money. He sometimes even cuts the grass to find some spare change. He can also tend to lord his position of 'Hero of Time' over other people, though he tries to avoid it. If he sees something suspicious, he likes to go stick his nose in it to see if he can help, and this can get him in trouble.

-To help everyone in order to gain cooler weapons
-To be brave and continue to save Hyrule
-To get with at least one of the girls he's met on his adventures

History: Link has had a troublesome past, dealing with many things. This particular Link appeared in Ocarina of Time, and was then willingly imprisoned into a so called 'Time Lock' as proposed by the sages. They weren't sure, at the time, how he would make it back. This experience gave Link insight into what happened in times past and what happened with every other Link, so he now has the knowledge of every other Link that ever existed. He was imprisoned so that he would be able to reemerge once Hyrule (or a comparable area) needed its hero again. He is, therefore, quite old, but he still looks as he did before he was imprisoned. The forces at work were comparable those that changed him from young Link in OoT to adult Link.
Because of this imprisonment, he was able to realize all of his friends, present and future, though he doesn't know their current social positions or anything of the like. For example, he doesn't know that Zelda was born to Isabel Kross. He believes everyone still resides in their normal places, so this has created a sense of disorientation.
Other: Has the Master Sword, Biggoron's Sword, the Bow, Fire Rod, Ice Rod, Hammer, all items available in Link to the Past, but contains no magical abilities as he does in Ocarina of Time. He also possesses the ocarina of time and a harp.
